So, because the holiday is FINALLY upon us ... I'm doing happy hour early this week.
And since I get done from work (yes ... I'm still sick and I went to work) in about half an hour and fully intend to start my REAL happy hour early with a green dragon martini, I thought we might as well get things off to a start.
This week, we'll be working within a double theme.
Since my drink of choice this afternoon is a colorful one, to everyone who replies give me either a drink recipe with a color in the name or, for those of a less alcoholic nature, something colorful that you love. It can be the ugly orange sweater with purple polkadots that your mom knitted last year, or the one eyed brown bear you snuggle with at night. Whatever you want, but it HAS to have a color involved in either the name or title of it.
Second theme today: We all know how stressful the holidays, particularly this one, are. Economy, family life, school woes ... quite the downer for such a jolly time of year. So, I'd like us all to take a moment and share something positive about our year. To quote a general rule in restaurants: ten people hear about a negative review whereas only five hear the good. Same applies here. We're so quick to remember the horrible, stressful stuff ... but how often do we REALLY recall the happy?
This isn't to mean you can't complain if you want to. By all means, please do. Happy hour isn't complete without a couple "what a bastards" and "um... wuts".
So, allow me to start the happy hour off:
( The Good )Okay, and now for the other portion:
( The Even Better )So, with that ... everyone who celebrates, have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Solstice and Happy whatever else I missed. For those who don't celebrate, have a wonderful holiday season!
